Sherry Dale Trainer entered into the kingdom of Heaven on May 21, 2017. She was born on July 5, 1944 in Nashville Tennessee. She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, D.C. Trainer. She is also survived by Children, D.C. Trainer Jr., Fred Trainer III, Sherry Tavel and husband Bob, and Linda Leach and husband Travis, 8 Grandchildren, D.C. Trainer III, Lyndsey Pruitt, Dennis Slate, Shelly Ziegler, Kacie Trainer, Fred Trainer IV, Halie Leach, Paige Leach and 9 Great Grandchildren, her sister Debbie Bowden and brothers Bubba Elliott and Gary Elliott. Nieces, Aimee Rorick, Stephanie Smith, Kimberly Erwin, Lisa Olson, Bonnie Smith and nephew Brandon Bowden and 13 Great Nieces and Nephews. She also leaves behind a numerous extended family and too many friends to count.
She is predeceased in death by her Mother, Corinne Deakins, Father, Walter Elliott and her beloved Daughter, Lou Chante’ Moore.
Sherry graduated from Gallatin High School in 1962 and went on to work in the Oil and Gas fields upon moving to Houston in 1968 followed by joining the Sales and Catering Department at Hobby Airport Hilton for many, many years. She left the Hotel industry to begin her career long journey working for Chambers of Commerce. Sherry began her Chamber of Commerce career at the South Belt-Ellington Chamber of Commerce as the President and CEO. From there she went on to work for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce where she remained for 17 years working such jobs as Sales and Marketing, Vice President and eventually becoming the President and CEO, she went on to attain her IOM at the University of Notre Dame. Sherry received numerous awards from local business and charities in the area during her lifetime. She loved being involved in the community and donating her time to local organizations such as The Rose, Rotary, PISD Education Foundation, Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, Pasadena Strawberry Festival, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Gulf Coast Chamber Executives, Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives to name a few.
Sherry had a zest for life, she loved to dance and laugh and she loved people. She loved to decorate and make things beautiful like her Christmas Trees and center pieces she did for her favorite local event the Taste of the Town. She was a giver with a kind yet feisty spirit that all who knew her cherished. She had a heart of gold and was definitely one- of a kind. She made this world a better place and will be missed by those of us she left behind.
