Benita Jackson Hedges, 87, of Porter went to be with her Lord Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born Thursday, June 27, 1929 to Ernest and Viola Jackson. Benita is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Hedges; children, Victoria Hedges McDonald, Dan Hedges, Leslie "Bubba" Hedges, and Duncan Hedges; granddaughter, Shanna Hedges. She is survived by children, Susan Hedges Johnson and husband Carrol, Leonard Hedges; grandchildren Camille and Steve Lonker, Susan Gaspard, Sherry Hedges, Scott Hedges, Pearl Silvis, Kristie Sanchez, Sara Brown, Amanda Muirhead; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Porter.
