Obituary for
Rickey Lane Ryan
Rickey Lane Ryan, 58, lost his battle with his epilepsy problems, surgeries, bleeding on the brain, and blood clots on May 2nd, 2017.
Rickey was born February 24, 1959 in Houston, Texas. He was born with Hydrocephalus and doctors then said that someone like him wouldn’t live a very long life. Later, they were amazed at his capabilities. He went to school at Smiley ISD and grew up in the Houston area. Not only did Rick live his 58 years, but he had a very productive life and made many friends along the way. Everyone that knew Rick says that he always made them laugh. True, he could be grouchy at times, but he earned that right with his many health problems. In the 1980’s he suffered a head injury that left him with epilepsy and the dangers that would befall him. Despite this unfair medical history Rick lived a positive life, enjoying his friendships, his country music, especially the Judds and Reba, he loved watching old westerns and Walker, Texas Ranger on TV, and was extremely proud to live alone in his own apartment. He and his best friend Art would spend many hours watching TV, listening to music, eating, and walking around the apartment complex. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cleota Ryan; brothers Roland James Ryan and Robert Lee Ryan; a sister, Sherry Lynn Stanford; and a niece, Sandra Berry. He is survived by and will be missed by hi sisters, Patricia Berry and husband Raymond J. Putz, and Winona Arlene Neely and husband Robert; nieces Cheryl Dvorak, Angela Colburn, Denise Ryan, and Cindy Ryan; nephews Tracy Berry, Wayne Blake, and Raymond Blake. As well as many cousins, great-nieces, great- nephews and very dear friends.
