Deborah Quick, age 58, of Kansas City, Missouri was born on April 10, 1959 and passed away surrounded by loving friends and family on April 14, 2017.
Ms. Quick’s visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble TX on Thursday April 20, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Reverend Bob Higgins will be officiating her funeral service at the same location on Friday April 21, 2017 at 12 noon. A celebration of Ms. Quick’s life will take place Saturday April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Father’s House Church in Houston TX.
Deborah Ann Quick was born in South Charleston, West Virginia on April 10, 1959. She graduated from Grace King High School in Metairie, Louisiana. Deborah later moved to Houston where she graduated nursing school at North Harris County College. She served Houstonians as a nurse until she answered her calling to serve full time in Christian Ministry. Beginning in 2006 Deborah ministered through the International House of Prayer in Kansas City where she served many roles such as a prayer room staff member, worshiper, artist and more. Deborah was involved with many ministries throughout her life including the prophetic ministry, interpreting dreams and visions and the Shekinah International Ministries in Houston TX, which she founded.
Deborah had a love for people. One of her favorite sayings was “There are no strangers here, only friends we have not met.” This was so true in every aspect of her life. She had compassion and zest for others and would often talk about her walk with Jesus.
Deborah is survived by her sisters Jennifer Higgins (Bob Higgins), Kelly Lamar (Steve Lamar), Michelle Miller (Matt Miller), her brother Bruce Quick (Anne Quick), and her closest friend Chris Stedman. Nieces and nephews include Danielle Higgins, Kristina Pound, Erin Sutton, Matt Quick, Meghan Quick, Collin Lamar, Lindsey Lamar, Mackenzie Miller and Mason Miller, and her step-mother Alice Quick.
Deborah is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Jean Quick, and her father Burton Denver Quick.
