Helen Yvonne Dunn was born on December 23,1923, in Waco, TX to Charles and Vola Lonsford. She passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband, James C. Dunn.

She was a beautiful soul, with a servant’s heart. Yvonne’s life revolved around her love for God, family and friends. Her smile, laugh and sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her. No one knowing that better than her loving husband of 75 years, James, whom she married in Albuquerque, NM in 1942. James and Yvonne’s love seemed like something ripped from the pages of a novel. A solider, determined to marry his love before he went off to war, and a beautiful young lady, willing to travel the distance to be with her soul mate. Their love story created the frame work for a life of happiness.

Yvonne’s heart became complete when she gave birth to her son, James “Skip” Dunn. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. Years later, she reached a new pinnacle when she became a grandma. Her grandsons fulfilled her life beyond measure. She loved spending time with her grandsons and great grandchildren. She was always up for a game of baseball in the front yard and a valuable member of every cheering section whenever her grandsons were involved.

Through her passing, we are reminded of her choice to live in happiness and to love deeply. Her life was an example of kindness and grace. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who loved her, but great comfort comes in the words from Matthew 25:21 “Well done thou good and faithful servant…Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Vola Lonsford, two sisters Charlene Oates and Anita Bynum, a brother Milton Lonsford and a baby daughter Beverly Jean Dunn. She is also survived by her son James (Skip) Dunn and wife Pat, whom she loved deeply and was in charge of her care. She is also survived by one brother Joe Lonsford and wife Jane. Grandsons include Jason(Brandi) Dunn, Adam(Rachel)Dunn, and Brian(Stormee) Dunn. Great-grandchildren are Baylee, Jake, Brady, Casey, Mackenzie, Logan, and Kash Dunn. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
