Obituary for Rob Wayne Reddin

Rob Wayne Reddin, age 47, was born on September 4, 1969, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and died on April 2, 2017, in Kingwood, Texas.

Rob completed his elementary school years in Frederick, Oklahoma, and his middle school and high school years in Texarkana, Texas, where he graduated high school in 1987. Shortly following high school graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served in Desert Shield and then Desert Storm. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, Rob worked in the restaurant business for many years where he met his wife, Kimberly Courtney. They were married and later became parents of 2 beautiful daughters, Reagan, age 14 and Kennedy, age 8. He was employed in the medical gas field upon his death.

Rob was loved by many and will be missed – deeply and always. His buddies all referred to him as “The Wookie” for reasons that continue to be a mystery to most; but, it was a moniker he responded to easily and often. He loved to laugh, but he especially loved making others laugh. He could see humor in some situations others may miss. And he never minded laughing loudest at himself.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kimberly; daughters, Reagan and Kennedy; mother, Linda Reddin Gavin and her husband, Mike Gavin; sister, Monica Reddin Norman, her husband, Mike Norman; brother, Jon Reddin and his wife Bianca, and Jon and Monica’s mother, Sherry Reddin; brother-in-law, Harry Courtney and his wife Gale; mother-in-law, Pamela Courtney; uncle, Bob Laing and wife Cecilia; cousin (more like brother) Clinton Laing, and 5 nieces and nephews, and a multitude of other family and friends.

Rob is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wayne Reddin, his father-in-law, Bob Courtney, both sets of his grandparents, Cap and Maurine Laing and Russell and Ruth Reddin; plus, his uncle, Stormy Laing.
