Obituary for Phillip Richard Russell Sr.

Phillip Richard Russell Sr., passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Kingwood Medical Center in Humble, Texas at the age of 72. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Virginia Foucell. His sons, Phillip Russell Jr. and wife Roxanne, Tracy Russell Sr. and wife Sheri, His grandsons, Drew Russell and wife Kayla, Christian Russell, Tracy Russell Jr, Zachary Russell, Granddaughter Alexis Russell (Richard), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, sisters the late Jeanette Russell Walker, and JoAnn Russell Melerine. Born in New Orleans, Raised in Caernarvon. Son of the late Harding Richard and Delores Gonzales Russell, he was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. In his early years, Mr. Russell was a hard working Carpenter. He carried his Bible, read it daily, and even witnessed to others. He met his wife Virginia Foucell, she was the girl who lived next door and they were married in a Catholic Church in Violet, Louisiana on June 6, 1964. He looked like someone to be afraid of but he was caring and a very soft hearted man. If you would ask him for help he would gladly help and would eventually take over and do it for you. He was very supportive of your dreams, he let you know that he was

proud of you, and that he believed in what you desired. During his free time he would like to create and build things. He surely had a talent and would do it over and over until he got it right. His passion was building things; for example he built a table set for his wife, a car bed for his 1st grandson, and baby bed that converted into a toddler and youth bed for his 2nd grandson. He was a man who loved working with his hands. He had no shame in crying and if he saw you crying he wouldn’t let you cry alone. He loved his wife Virginia, he strived to always protect her, and made sure that he told her that she was beautiful. He lived to love his family and his family was everything to him. He also loved to keep us on our toes by always finding a way to make us laugh. He is one of the guys who left his mark and who will never be forgotten! He is Loved and Missed by many! In our hearts he is the Greatest Man!! A funeral service will be held at:
Living Cornerstone Church 714 W. St. Bernard Parkway Braithwaite, Louisiana 70040 April 23, 2017 at 2:00PM.
