Kenneth (Ken, KW) Johnson, born April 28,1932 passed away February 25, 2017. Ken is survived by wife Avis Johnson, Children Barbara Fry, James Johnson, Holly Elliott and Bobby D Elliott, Heather Conrad, Stepsons Dennis Beavers and wife Donna, and Mark Beavers. Grandchildren including: Nicholas Lazarus, Tyler Strickland, Christina Fry, Ashley Debose, Brittney Johnston, and Cody Elliott and others, as well as numerous great grandchildren.
Ken is predeceased in death by his father Samuel B Johnson, mother Pauline Wilcox, brother Jimmie Johnson, sons Donald & James Craig Johnson.
Ken joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. After returning home he attended the University of Houston where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree. Ken is an avid Cougar Fan, and loved cheering on his team.
Ken started with Ford Motor Credit, and worked in the Automobile Industry much of his adult life. He left the automobile industry and began substitute teaching and mentoring for the kids for the TAAS Test at La Porte ISD.
Ken enjoyed traveling with family and friends in his motorhome, and enjoyed going to rallies and meeting new people. He loved his Saturday morning dates for pancakes and “coffee” with his grandsons Ken enjoyed fishing and time spent with family and friends making cherished memories. Ken was a member of South Main Baptist Church and considered that his second family.
