Graveside Services for Katherine L. Matthews, 86, will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at the Rosewood Cemetery in Porter, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rosewood facility in Porter just prior to the graveside service at 12:30 p.m..
Katherine, known to many as “Kathy”, passed away at the Heartis Conroe memory care facility following a bout with Dementia. She was a resident of Houston for over 50 years before moving to Shreveport, LA, and then to Lufkin, TX in recent years and finally resided in Conroe, Texas just recently.
Katherine’s occupations included Hair Dresser, Real Estate Sales, and Custom Decorating. She retired from JC Penney in 1995 and relished the memories of that rewarding career for the remainder of her life.
Preceding her in death were husbands John Bates, Wayne Andrew, and Robert (Bob) Matthews. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Benny Bates, Vicki Lyons, Connie Lee, Scott Andrew, and Carol Livingston. Their spouses include Ruth Bates of Spring, TX, Richard Lyons of Willis, TX, Tom Lee of Kingwood, TX, (deceased), Bonnie Andrew of Conroe, and Richard Livingston of Grandview, TX.
Katherine had numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she had a little tiny dachshund, Sache, that she cared for deeply and is now almost 18 years old.
Katherine will be deeply missed by all.
