Obituary for Annie M. Chapman (Mays)

Ann (Annie Bell ) Mays Chapman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, employer, pastor, and friend moved from this life into Glory on Thursday August 25, 2016.. Ann is survived by her husband Roy Chapman, her children Selena Sleeper, Trey Sanford, James Chapman, John Chapman and Deanna Chapman; grandchildren, Leslie Sleeper, Chad Sleeper, Patrick (P.J.) Chapman, Justine Chapman, Jaime Chapman, Brandi Sanford Zimmerman, Canyon Sanford, Dalton Sanford, Ashley Chapman Forman, Courtney Chapman, John Chapman II, Isabella Beesley, and Landen Chapman; Great-grandchildren, Wyatt Sleeper, Hudson Sleeper, Griffin Sleeper, and Wranglor Freres. She was predeceased by her mother Sallye Mays, her father Leland Mays, her brother Jerry, and her sister Lois
Ann was born “Annie Bell Mays” on May 7, 1940 in New Edinburg, Arkansas. Growing up in Arkansas surrounded by her loving cousins and family Ann enjoyed a simple and fulfilling childhood. After moving to Columbus, Georgia when she was 10, Ann rose to be acknowledged as one of the best and brightest. She began to shine both in scholarly endeavors and community activities. Ann excelled so much in her scholastic studies that she was class valedictorian and also was named Most Likely to Succeed. And succeed she did!
Later in life Ann moved to Houston where she worked in the downtown business district. Using her skills in dictation, typing and shorthand, Ann rose to every challenge and eventually became a stockbroker. With her tireless spirit she was instrumental in the creation, building and management of their family business endeavors which continue to this day. She and her husband Roy, strong in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, were involved with many ministries such as Benny Hinn, TD Jakes, Kenny Hinson, Rod Parsley and Larry Jo Wright before becoming pastors themselves. Together she and Roy started Worship Tabernacle in Humble, Texas over twenty years ago. Ann was also the co-host of the television program Rejoice in The Lord, and made many appearances on TBN and Daystar Christian television networks throughout the years. She and her husband Roy Chapman were married for over 45 years. They were not only husband and wife, they were business partners and ministry partners, but first and foremost they were best friends.
Ann is a testament to God’s healing power. She was a 27 year survivor of breast cancer and during the last 5 years she had the opportunity to face more physical challenges, but she always endured with grace and elegance. Whenever she was faced with an obstacle, Ann could be heard with a smile and strong assurance in her voice proclaiming the truth of God’s word in her life. She will be greatly missed, but her voice will be eternally heard stating Psalm 34 “ I will Bless the Lord at all times, His praise will continually be in my mouth,”.
Ann’s eternal home is heaven but her earthly legacy is tangible and found in the investments she has deposited into her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, church members, ministry partners, employees and many other loved ones who experienced her wisdom, her wit, her generosity and her grace.
