Obituary for Harold Lee Wilson

Harold L. Wilson, 81, of Huffman, Texas entered into heaven on Friday, August 19, 2016. He was born February 28, 1935 in Nara Visa, New Mexico. He grew up and attended school in the Aldine area and graduated from Aldine High School. After graduation he worked with his father at the family dairy farm for a short time, then joined the Army at the age of 19. Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956 active duty and continued to serve in the US Army Reserves from 1956- 1962. He participated in the Gulf Coast Bricklayers Apprentice Program and became a bricklayer, then a Masonry Contractor, with a career spanning more than 50 years. He served several terms on the Board of Directors of the American Subcontractors Association, and also the Board of Directors for Texas Commerce Bank. Harold had many interests and hobbies; He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of the NRA. Hunting combined several things he enjoyed the most in life, spending time with family and teaching the younger relatives how to safely hunt and enjoy the outdoors. He was a member of the 100 Club for many years and a strong supporter of our Police Officers and their families. Harold raised Simmental Cattle, Boer Goats and Donkeys. Over the years he sponsored many young people who needed help buying animals to raise and participate in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was a Bible-believing Christian, a gentleman, and a kind, generous, loving, person, with a terrific sense of humor which served him well during his long illness. He was a hard-working man who used to tell us all, “Good things come to those who wait, as long as they work like hell while they are waiting”. He was loved immeasurably, and will be missed every day until we join him in heaven.
