Ramchand Deba (Derek) was born on January 3, 1964 in Berbice, Guyana. He was the fifth child born to Harinarain and Dhanmatia Deba. On September 6, 1978 Derek immigrated to the United States and settled in New York. He completed his high school education at Hillcrest High School in Queens, New York. After his completion of his high school studies, he went on to study at John J. College of Criminal Justice.
Derek then followed his passion to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. In 1984, he attended Basic Military Training School at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. In his 14 years of service, he was based in Europe, Panama, and South Korea.
On May 22, 2016 Derek was called to Heaven and his physical presence will be missed by his family and friends. Derek was survived by his father, mother, three brothers, three sisters, and fourteen nieces and nephews.
We as family and friends will greatly miss him. He will be looking down from Heaven and smiling at us. We will always LOVE and miss him.
