Jeanette Lucinda Villarreal (Villarreal)
Jeanette Villarreal, 34, was born in Houston, Texas on February 25, 1981 to Raul and Mary Villarreal and moved with her family to Pasadena, Texas in 1994.
After graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Anthropology, She went on to study nursing at San Jacinto College. At Memorial Herman Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, she fulfilled her calling as a nurse, caring for others and impacting many lives.
Jeanette was fun-loving, talented and very creative. She enjoyed several hobbies, including scrapbooking, stamping, card making, cake decorating, and jewelry making. She loved party-planning and was always ready to help her family and friends put together a special and beautiful celebration.
Jeanette was a classy lady with fine tastes, yet she was down to earth. She loved to read, travel, and the arts, especially ballets and musicals. Jeanette was never afraid to try new things and always knew the best places to shop, eat and have fun and took every opportunity to enjoy these things with her loved ones. With her keen eye and eclectic style you could count on Jeanette for good advice on fashion, decorating, movies, food...
In August of 2013 Jeanette began her battle with late stage ovarian cancer and faced this illness with tenacity and courage. Despite this, she continued to work and contribute to the lives of her family with joy and enthusiasm. Whether she was helping her sister plan a wedding or taking trips to new places. Jeanette never complained and made the most of each day. When she had the opportunity to attend a Camp for ovarian cancer survivors, Camp MAK a Dream, she inspired others to seize the day with her outlook on life!
Jeanette was also a devoted pet owner to her rescue dog Basil, who she cared for as if she was her own child for 13 years.
She was a loving and dedicated daughter to Raul and Mary Villarreal. As a big sister, she was a best friend, a confidant and a guide for her little sister Iris. When she helped welcome her little nephew Logan into the world, she became the world’s proudest Aunt. Jeanette loved her family, and will be missed by her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also an amazing friend, who touched all of our lives with her humble and witty personality. Heaven has received a gem; she is home now, sitting at her Savior's feet and enjoying the life she was created for. Cancer has not won!
