Leonard Ray Speer III
Leonard Ray Speer III’s life was taken tragically in Galveston, Texas on Sunday September 6, 2015 at the age of 24.
Ray was born in Fort Worth Texas on Carswell Air Force Base on November 21, 1990 to his loving parents Joey Speer and Angie (Cogburn) Speer.
He grew up in Humble, Texas and graduated from Chester W. Nimitz High School in 2010. At Nimitz High School Ray was a proud member of the ROTC, specifically the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps.
He was currently living and working in Galveston, Texas.
Ray is survived by his parents Joey Speer of Humble, Texas and Angie (Cogburn) Speer of Galveston, Texas and his two sisters, Alexis and Joeanne.
Additionally Ray leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Leonard who he was named after and Louise Speer of Sugar Land, Texas. He is also survived by several adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. As well as many close friends, he will be missed by all.
Ray was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bennie and Frances Cogburn of Saginaw, TX.
One of Ray's favorite things was the time he spent with his family and friends.
Ray will affectionately be remembered for his gentle and quiet spirit.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home, 2602 South Houston Ave., Humble Texas 77396, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2pm.
