Condolence: I met Sylvester Leonards when I lived my cursillo weekend on May 2009. I saw him many times at the Closura's of many other weekends in which he always made everyone welcome. He was a very patient man, very friendly and dedicated to the Cursillo movement. I am blessed to have know him and I pray that in God's Mercy, he rests in peace.

Condolence: I worked with Syl, at IWL in Clear Lake, many years ago. I will always remember him as having a smile on his face, and being a man of integrity. My condolences to the family for your loss. He is a great man.

Condolence: Sylvester, thank you for the errant email message that you sent me which led to my attending a Cursillo weekend and down the road, the diaconate. You were certainly a role model of what a deacon should look like, compassionate and kind. Grouping with you was enlightening and insightful. Condolence: Cassie, I find it hard to express how very sorry I feel hearing of Syls passing. During our working relationship we had many good times that I will never forget. Condolence: Sylvester served on the Birthright Board for over 28 years. He always came to the meetings with a smile on his face and a hug. I never knew him to have anything but compassion for mankind. We will miss him so much. Our meetings will not be the same without his input.His encouragement in my role as director was a blessing to me. If all humans could be as kind as Sylvester, our world would be a better place.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to all of Sylvester's family. I'm so grateful to God to know Sylvester and for his prayer and support of my vocation to the priesthood. I will miss his big bear hugs when I would come home to visit St. Philip's parish. He touched so many people's lives by his goodness. Condolence: Sylvester was such a sweet and nice person. Our parents were friends and he got stuck with us but was always so kind and fun. We also rode the bus to school for years and I remember when he finally got to be in the front seat... took years to attain that status.. Please accept my condolences and prayers for a man who made a great, positive impression on the people he met.. May you remember all the good times and wonderful memories that you have been blessed with as one who knew him..

Condolence: The first time I ever met Sylvester I knew that he was one of a kind person. Sylvester had only positive things ever to say and always had that big smile on his face. I could tell that his family was his pride and joy of his life and he treated everyone like they were family.
