Betty Marie Odom (Rochowiak)
Betty Marie Odom, was born February 1, 1933 in Detroit, MI. She was born to Josephine (Jean) an Frank Rochowiak. She attended school in Michigan until 10th grade. She later received her GED from New Caney High School, Texas. Betty had 4 other sisters, Frances, Vicki, Antoinette (Toni), and Maryann. They resided in Michigan until 1952 when they moved to Houston, Texas.
On April 8, 1950 she married Robert L. Odom Sr.. They had 4 children, Robert L. Odom Jr., Therese (Terri), Marie (Ellen) and Susan.
Betty loved to crochet, play cards and dominos. She enjoyed having her family over for special occasion. She also enjoyed fishing making polish foods, playing games on her computer and watching old movies. She especially enjoyed going to Delta Down with her daughters and throwing a few coins in the slot machines.
Betty attended “The Little Country Church” in New Caney, Texas. She met a lot of wonderful new friends there. They all loved her and called her mom. Her best friend was her dog “Bear”. She was always able to tell him anything. He followed her everywhere she went.
Betty had a very large family she is survived by her children, Terri and husband Donald Morris, Ellen and husband Eugene Ely, and Susan and husband Mike Smith; daughter-in-law, Tammy Odom; sisters, Frances and husband John Parkinson, Toni and husband Dave Lesinski, Maryann West, and Vicki and husband Paul Marshall; grandchildren, Rebecca and Robert R. Odom, Bradley Meador, Cody and Adam Morris, Samantha, Raymond and Rusty Ely, Kimberly Stone, Kayla Smith, and Mike Evers; great grandchildren, Jayden and Tylar Odom, John Ely, Michael (MJ) Stone, and Brylee McCrary; 3 nieces, 5 nephews and other loving family members and many many friends.
She will be interred at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble, Texas next to her husband.
