Paul Allen Avery
Paul Allen Avery, 84, died on September 20, 2014 at Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena Texas. He was born June 3, 1930 in Pennington, Texas to P. J. and Eartha Collins Avery. The family was saddened by the loss and will miss him greatly.
Paul grew up in Pennington, graduating from Pennington High School. He attended Texas A & M University before going into the Army. He served in the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. He came to Pasadena and worked at Shell Chemical Company. He left Shell to start Paul Avery Motor Company, where he found his true vocation and operated it until he retired.
Paul married Billie Jean Lackey and they were married for 54 years. Paul was a member of Thomas Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching football, and was a big fan of the Houston Oilers and the Texas Aggies.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, James Avery and Bill Avery, sons Allen Avery, Gary Rosser, grandson Aaron Price.
Paul is survived by his spouse Billie, his son Larry Rosser, daughters Kay Avery, Paula Avery, and grandchildren, Katie, Amy, Brett, Sarah, Julia, and Cara, and great grandchild Koby, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Pasadena. The visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held the following day at Latexo Cemetery on September 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m..
